STUDENT LAPTOP LEARNING EMERGENCY FUND
April 3, 2020, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ, GA - The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College Foundation is pleased to announce a new fund to assist ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College students who are experiencing challenges with distance learning.
The Student Laptop Learning Emergency Fund will assist ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College students who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 pandemic by lending them a laptop to use for online coursework completion. A number of students have indicated that they rely heavily on access to student labs and public libraries to complete online coursework. As a result of facility shutdowns, students' ability to complete assignments necessary for program completion or graduation have been hindered.
The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College Foundation has pledged $10,000 of support to the College to assist in lessening this burden. “These funds will help ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College address the new and urgent technology needs impacting our students. We will focus these resources on areas of critical need in an effort to retain and graduate students while maintaining a high level of responsiveness during the COVID-19 pandemic,” stated Dr.
Melissa Frank-Alston, Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and Institutional Effectiveness and Research. “Thanks to the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical Foundation for supporting the College in this effort.”
