ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College Announces Adult Education Outstanding Teacher of the Year Devlynn Taylor

Mrs. Taylor will represent ATC at the EAGLE Leadership Institute in March 2022.

The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College Logo that is black in color.  The logo is a square shape that contains vertical stacking of the words ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College Established 1961 in all caps.  The words AUGUSTA and TECHNICAL are separated by a row containing three squares.  Each square contains a silhouette image. ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College Announces Adult Education Outstanding Teacher of the Year Devlynn Taylor

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College is excited to announce that Mrs. Devlynn Taylor has been named the 2022 Adult Education Outstanding Teacher of the Year (OTOY) for ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College. The announcement of Mrs. Taylor as the winner was made virtually on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

The college had four instructors who competed to become the local Outstanding Teacher of the Year. The additional nominees were:

  • Julianne Belangia
  • Charlene Crane
  • Tara Jenkins

The Adult Education OTOY program is designed to recognize and honor our most outstanding Adult Education teachers who make significant contributions to the field through instruction, innovation, and leadership. These outstanding teachers participate in school and community activities, they understand the importance of and are committed to the Adult Education profession, and they exemplify excellence. The OTOY has a deep commitment to the mission of the Office of Adult Education (OAE).

"I am humbled and honored to be chosen as the Adult Education Outstanding Teacher of the Year,” stated Taylor. “Teaching is truly a calling for me, and I strive to positively impact the lives of others both inside and outside of the classroom. I am excited to represent ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College and further demonstrate how we are an institution of excellence!"

Mrs. Taylor is married with three children. As a lifelong learner, she has dedicated herself to helping others fulfill their own educational goals through her passion for teaching. When she is not in the classroom, you can find her on a baseball/softball field, eating something sweet, or doing math problems for fun.

"We are excited to have Mrs. Taylor as the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Technical College Adult Education Outstanding Teacher of the Year Winner," stated Angela Moseley, Dean of Adult Education. "Mrs. Taylor is a phenomenal instructor with a passion for education. She shows creativity in the classroom and strives for data-driven learning objectives and results. We are proud to have her as this college's representative ."

The OAE OTOY Award Winner serves as a professional-level ambassador for Adult Education in Georgia as the TCSG OAE’s Outstanding Teacher of the Year . S/he makes many public appearances (virtual or in-person) throughout the year, including presenting before the TCSG State Board, college presidents, city/state officials, the General Assembly of the State of Georgia and other speakingengagement opportunities in order to promote Adult Education.

In addition to carrying the distinguished title, the recipient will receive a cash award of $500. The OAE will also award $2500 to the program in support of curricula (e.g. books, materials, etc.) acquisition.
